The council approved $15.5 million in industrial revenue bonds for Open Road Brands, LLC. The company designs and distributes decorative retail items around the world. They plan to build an 83 thousand square foot manufacturing and distribution facility, which will be located at the northeast corner of 40th Street North and Webb Road.
The city will purchase vacant land near the Sedgwick County Park on west 13th Street North, which will be used to build an Evergy power substation for the Northwest Wichita Water Facility. The cost: $595 thousand.
The council also approved a business service agreement with the Wichita Independent Business Association and a one-year financial advisory services contract with Piper Sandler.
