The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly altered the city's budget in 2020. On Tuesday, the council made several year-end adjustments.

The city made $12.7 million in cuts back in August.

A CARES Act grant from the county will cover $12.4 million in eligible firefighter pay, which normally comes from the General Fund.

The Fire, Parks and Police departments all exceeded their budgets. $2.15 million in funds will be shifted from other areas to offset that spending.

There is some bright news. Mark Manning from the city's finance department says sales tax revenue continues to over perform, which may help create some budget flexibility.

The city says the 2021 Adopted Budget is balanced but projects deficits beginning in 2022.
