Millions of Americans will receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination this week. Wichita mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News it's too bad the vaccine wasn't available last April, but he says it's "amazing that in less than a year medical science has not only been able to come up with a vaccine, but also test the vaccine on tens of thousands people to determoine that it's safe and effective".
At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will allocate federal money from the CARES Act for pandemic relief. Mayor Brandon Whipple says the money will not only go to help the homeless, but also to those having a hard time because of the pandemic. Rent assistance and utility payment assistance is alo available. Local governments must earmark the money by the end of the year, or must return the money to the federal government.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor ... during the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
