The Wichita City Council will discuss a possible public vote on the fate of Century II and the former downtown libraray building, anong other structures. A citizens' committee gathered more than 17,000 signatures on a petition to protect historic buildings. The City is challenging that petition in court. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the city council can save some money ... as much as $110,000 ... if it can avoid a public vote. The city council will discuss the matter at Tuesday's weekly meeting.

The mayor also says the local pandemic numbers are improving. And people wearing masks is a big factor.

Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor ... on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
