A citizens' committee gathered more than 17,000 signatures on a petition to protect historic buildings. The City is challenging that petition in court. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the city council can save some money ... as much as $110,000 ... if it can avoid a public vote. The city council will discuss the matter at Tuesday's weekly meeting.
The mayor also says the local pandemic numbers are improving. And people wearing masks is a big factor.
