The Wichita Police Department made an arrest in connection with a shooting on Sunday, March 1st. in southeast Wichita. On Thursday WPD arrested 21-year-old Deamonte Reese of Wichita on one count of aggravated battery. Reese was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and a parolee violation through the Kansas Department of Corrections. Officers located Reese in the 8300 block of East Kellogg, and he was arrested without incident.
At approximately 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, WPD officers responded to a shooting call at a residence in the 2900 block of East Timberlane. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 53-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
