During the past two days, another 26,000 Kansans have been given their first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. It brings the total number of residents vaccinated with one dose to more than 491,000 (17%) of Kansans. Among those, nearly a quarter-million people have also received a second dose.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) says more than 1.1 million doses have been distributed in the state so far; that's up by nearly 92,000 since Monday.
The KDHE says another 35 Kansas deaths have been linked to COVID-19 during the past two days, bringing the state's death toll to 4,851 during the pandemic.
Also since Monday, there have been 56 new COVID-19 hospitalizations.
In the past two days, 778 more Kansans have tested positive for the coronavirus. The total since the pandemic began is 297,229.
