15% of Kansas residents have received a COVID vaccine shot

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment's most recent COVID-19 update shows no new deaths were recorded in the state; that's the first time that's happened since mid-July. More than 4,800 Kansas have died from COVID-19 during the year-long pandemic.

15.1% of Kansans have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. That's nearly 28,000 more Kansans than Wednesday, bringing the state's total to 439,000. Among those, more thanb 219,000 have also received their second doses.


The number of vaccine doses distributed in Kansas has topped one million. The doses distributed increased by more than 76,000 during the past two days.

Another 32 Kansans have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since Wednesday.
