The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office gave an update on the 2026 fireworks season.
Healthcare providers reported 156 fireworks-related injuries from June 20 through July 7.
At least 25 people in Kansas were sent to a burn or trauma center, had surgery or received a higher level of care.
This year, 28 kids under the age of eight sustained a fireworks-related injury.
