A blustery Sunday across South-Central Kansas

Sunday was an extremely windy day throughout the state of Kansas.

Wind gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour were reported in Bel Aire, Newton, Hutchinson, and Goddard. A 65 mile-per-hour gust was recorded east of McPherson, and a 63 mile-per-hour gust swept through Wichita's Eisenhower Airport late Sunday morning.

Power lines were blown down in several locations in Harvey County, to the north of the Wichita area. Some roof damage was reported in the Hutchinson area.

Damage was reported at the Field Station: Dinosaur attraction in Derby.
