AAA is projecting that more than 584,000 Kansans will be traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period. The number of overall travelers is up 2% from last year. About 89% of Kansas travelers, or 523,000, will be driving to their holiday destinations.
AAA projects 55.4 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period. This year’s Thanksgiving forecast is an increase of 2.3% over last year. Shawn Steward of AAA Kansas tells KNSS News AAA is projecting that more than 584,000 Kansans will be traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
Steward says Kansas gasoline prices are down from last Thanksgiving. He says hotel rooms are down 12%, rental cars are down 20%, and cruises are down 12%.
