Shawn Steward of AAA/Kansas tells KNSS News an estimated 79.9 million travelers nationwide will head at least 50 miles from home. Steward says an estimated 862,000 Kansans will travel, 90% of them driving to their destinations. Kansas gasoline prices are averaging $2.72 a gallon, sixth lowest in the U.S.
AAA considers Thanksgiving the busiess holiday for travel ans they're expecting another busy on this year.
Steward says at the airports, TSA may set a new one-day record next Sunday as travelers return from the holiday.
