It's been 30 years since the passing of actor Bert Convy, who died in July of 1991 at age 57 from a brain tumor.

Convy was an actor, singer, and the game show host of "Tattletales", "Super Password", and "Win, Lose or Draw".

He also played minor league baseball in Kansas. Convy was born in St. Louis, and his family moved to California when he was seven years old.

When he was 17, the Philadelphia Phillies offered him a contract, and he played two seasons of minor league baseball.

As an 18-year-old in his second year in the minors, Convy played in Class C for the Salina Blue Jays, but he struggled to hit in the Western Association at that level, batting only .196.

He was then sent down, playing in the "Class D" Kansas-Oklahoma-Missouri League for the rest of the summer while batting .239, playing against the likes of the Iola Indians, Independence Browns, and the Bartlesville/Pittsburg Pirates. After that, his baseball career was over and he went to UCLA and on to show biz.

Convy was also in the original cast of two powerhouse musicals on Broadway; he was in the Opening Night cast for both "Fiddler on the Roof", and "Cabaret".
