Arrest made after Wichita church vandalism

Wichita Police say there is a suspect in custody after an act of vandalism was committed over the weekend to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the 2000 block of N. Arkansas. According to a release officers responding on Saturday found graffiti as well as significant damage to items such as statues, candles, and glass. A United States flag was also found burned.

An investigation led to an arrest being made early Saturday morning on N. Hillside.  The suspect was arrested without incident and has been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on charges of burglary, criminal desecration, and criminal damage to property. The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney and federal prosecutors for formal charging considerations.
