Looking back at 2024, KNSS News asked Sedgwick County Commission Chair Ryan Baty about the county's victories. He mentions dealing with staffing, the primary source of the county's services to the community, including public safety, public health, public works. Baty says over the past two years the county has raised staffing levels from around 70 percent to nearly 95 percent.
Baty also says rising costs will continiue to put pressure on the county's budget the coming year. That will be a challenge to reform services and departments and eliminate redundencies.
