A boating accident in Cowley County Friday afternoon injured two people, one critically.
It happened around 4:50 p.m. at Winfield Lake, located to the northeast of the city. Winfield Fire Department Captain Pete Rowley said the person with critical injuries was transported to a local hospital while the other suffered minor injuries.
The incident is being investigated by Winfield Police and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
