Boeing and Southwest Airlines announce an order for 100 737 MAX aircraft, with an option for 155 more. The fuselage for the MAX is manufactured at Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News "that's amazing". Whipple says there are 300 to 500 local small businesses that support the MAX. Says Whipple, "it has a ripple effect".
The former Macy's and state office building in downtown Wichita is being renovated to house a new medical school. Whipple says it brings more development to the downtown area, while attracting students tol study in the new school.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor, on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
