Sedgwick County Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News the County's annual budget-writing process is beginning, and they're looking at a $5 million imbalance. Baty says "we need to start looking ahead at how do we find better efficiencies, how do we restructure some areas?"
Baty says the county faces staffing shortages and challenges in pay for county workers. Still, Baty says he's seen a lot of progress since he was elected to the board 16 months ago. He says he wants to avoid adding to the tax burden of the county's citizens.
Baty commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
