A change of plea request has been made in the shooting death of a teenage boy at Wichita's Towne East Square.

On the day he was expected to be sentenced, Te'bryis Robinson, 19, withdrew his no-contest plea to second-degree murder and aggravated battery in the shooting death of TrenJ'vious Hutton, 14, in March of 2022.

Withdrawing his plea on Monday also means that Robinson will forfeit his current attorneys and will be appointed a public defender.

The Judge in the case ruled earlier this year that Robinson would be prosecuted as an adult.

A status hearing date has not yet been scheduled.
