Chiefs broadcast voice recognized as "Kansan of the Year"

Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs Mitch Holthus has received the latest of many honors in his career. The Kansas Society of Washington, D.C. announced that Holthus, commentator for the Kansas City Chiefs, was voted as the 2024 Kansan of the Year. Holthus has been with the Chiefs for 29 seasons and three Super Bowl victories.

Holthus is a member of the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the Kansas State University Athletics Hall of Fame. According to the Kansas Society of Washington, D.C., he was chosen because he has been an “exemplary ambassador for the state.”
