Rose Hill Police are looking for answers after a child's body was discovered, buried in the back yard of a home.
Officials say the remains were likely buried for several years, and they are not connected with any reported missing person's case.
Police Chief Taylor Parlier says it began Tuesday evening when officers responded to a person in distress near Rose Hill Road and Rosewood Street.
That adult was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police are investigating the child's death as a homicide and have a list of potential suspects.
An autopsy will be done to identify the remains.
