Where is the most relaxing place to live in the U.S. The lawn service website LawnStarter has published a study ranking 191 cities across the country, using 57 metrics, ranging from depression rates, to the share of adults with high blood pressure, to the average length of a workday.
Two cities in Kansas are in the top third of the rankings. Olathe is the most relaxed city in the state, coming in nationally at number 44, while Overland Park sits comfortably in the number 51 slot. Overland Park was #4 in the category of Adequate Sleep Rate, while Olathe ranked 5th in Financial Health.
Kansas' other two cities on the list... did not do as well. Of the 191 U.S. cities, Wichita ranked at 167. The city did well in Work Environment and Financial Health, coming in at #66 and #63 respectively. But much higher numbers in Physical Health, Mental Health, Social Environment, and Entertainment hurt Wichita's overall rating.
Kansas City, MO did slightly better, coming in at #145. But the Kansas' final city on the list was Kansas City, Kansas... which came in dead last. #191 out of 191, ranking near the bottom of nearly every category.
