The Wichita City Council and Sedgwick County Commission will meet en banc Tuesday morning. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the City is facing budget budget shortages, and they will look for ways to hold down spending, possibly with ideas from the county commissioners. Wu says the City wants to examine ways to save money in the parks department.
Facing millions in budget shortfalls in the future, there's been suggestions that the City might increase its sales tax or property tax. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News she doesn't want to go that way. She says the public has asked the City to focus on crime, streets, economic development, and homelessness.
Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
