The Wichita City Council discussed their 2022 federal agenda and a continuity of operations plan at their Tuesday morning workshop.

Jim Davenport from Thorn Run Partners is the city's lobbyist and gave the first presentation of the morning. He discussed the various projects that the city is looking for federal funding to support. They include Kellogg expansion, from 111th Street West to 151st Street West, Amtrak extension of services, equus bed water supply plans and steps to reduce violence.

The second presentation of the day concerned the city's continuity of operations plan, which was completed in January. Those who participated in the project stress it's not a disaster plan but a blueprint to keep various city department functions working, in the event of a natural disaster or cyber-attack.

City Manager Robert Layton says departments have a slightly different plan and each will undergo drills and maintenance to keep it fresh.
