At Tuesday's meeting the Wichita City Council will discuss a proposed ordinance to create a special election, asking residents to vote on a one percent sales tax increase. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News part of such an increase could be for property tax relief. Wu says it would also be for tax funding to construct facilities, instead of using bonds. Wu says that could save the City a lot of money.
The Council will also discuss an amendment to the K 96 and Greenwich STAR Bond area, to create a new sports district, to include playing fields and a new hotel.
Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
