City Council to look at naming rights for Stryker Sports complex

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider granting naming rights for the city-owned Stryker Sports Complex in northast Wichita. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News Scheel's sporting goods store is ready to spend $625,000 over the next five years, maintaining the Stryker facility. Whipple says the money is for safety netting and fencing. He says people attending games and tournaments at Stryker pend a lot of money in Wichita businesses.

The City Council will vote on the plan for parking around the city. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the City will switch from quarters to a phone app that will "feed" the meter. "Change is hard", says Whipple, but the new system help the city operate and maintain its more than 8,000 parking spacses.
