Officials with the City of Wichita say their Twitter account was compromised. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Officials confirmed that received a suspicious login notification, in spite of having a two-factor authentication in place.
The social platform has been advised of the breach, and the City is hopeful the issue will be resolved soon. However, they caution that if you receive a suspicious direct message from an account that appears to be the City of Wichita, do not open it and immediately delete it.
The City's account has over 22,000 followers.
