City of Wichita wants input in the bicycle plan project

The City of Wichita has launched the planning process for its updated Wichita Bicycle Plan. The plan is revisited every 10 years and is shaped by community feedback to develop a strategic roadmap that identifies projects to increase cycling safety, comfort and convenience. The focus of the plan is to identify priority bike corridors and initiatives that support the travel needs of the community.

The plan will include strategies for achieving a more bikeable city and outline actionable projects prioritized by the community through a comprehensive public engagement process. Residents are asked to begin by completing an interactive survey at WichitaBicyclePlan.com.


The public is encouraged to share their thoughts:

§  Heartspring's Carefest: at  10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 8700 East 29th St N.

§  Old Town Farm and Art Market: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, 835 E 1st St N.

§  Latin Fest-ICT: from 11 a.m.- 11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, Old Town Square, 2nd and Mead

§  Open Streets ICT: noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, Douglas Ave. from Bluff St. to N. Glenn
