Sedgwick County Commission will again discuss a new administration home

Pete Meitzner
KNSS NEWS

At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will discuss the possible purchase of a building at 250 North Water to house the county's administrative offices, currently located in the Ruffin Building at Douglas and Main. Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the county made an offer on the building and the deadline for a decision comes at the end of the month. Meitzner says staff will also brief the commission on other possibilities for a long-term facility.

Also at Wednesday's meeting, the Commission will discuss the county's possible involvement in a cold weather emergency shelter for the homeless on east 21st Street. Meitzner says the county's share of the $700,000 cost would be about $200,000.

Meitzner commented during his weekly visit with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
