Wichita firefighters responded to a house fire Saturday afternoon in the south part of town.
The fire broke out around 3:45 p.m. in the 800 block of W. Hazel Street, near 51st South and Seneca.
A neighbor spotted smoke and attempted to put it out with a garden hose prior to the firefighters' arrival. Flames were coming from the crawlspace and a corner bedroom but crews were able to quickly extinguish it.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported. Fire officials suspect an electrical or mechanical issue with a driveway gate.
