The trials of two men charged with first-degree murder in a drive-by shooting that killed a one-year-old in the southeast part of Wichita have been continued until next year.

The trials of Roames Bonner and Jonathan Tillery-Matthias were scheduled to begin in Sedgwick County court this week, but they were continued to Jan. 5, 2026.

The shooting killed Taidyn Anderson, and a pair of women were critically hurt in the shooting at an apartment complex south of Pawnee & Oliver.

Tillery-Matthias and K’Veion Richard were charged first, about a week after the shooting. Once it was determined that Bonner, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, could be tried as an adult, he was charged in April.

Richard was found guilty in April of first-degree murder and other counts, and sentenced to life in prison with no eligibility for parole for a half-century.
