Wichita police have confirmed that a bomb threat that prompted the evacuation of an eastside Walmart store was a hoax call.
It happened just after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 11,000 block of E. Kellogg Drive.
The call was made to the store's electronics department. The employee who answered the phone said they heard someone whisper the word "bomb."
The employee called 911 and the store was cleared as a precaution. Officers searched the store and were able to give the all-clear a short time later.
