One man has died after a shooting in west Wichita. It happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. According to the Wichita Police Department they received a report on the shooting in the 2700 block of W. 2nd. St. North.
Officers arriving on the scene found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officers told 12 News the preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting began after an altercation between a group of people.
Four other men were involved but left the area. There is no suspect in custody so far.
