The Wichita City Council will hold a workshop Tuesday. Mayor Brandown Whipple tells KNSS News there is federal money available to promote home ownership. He says about $5 million dollars could help people who couldn't otherwise afford it, to buy a home.
Mayor Whipple and other local officials will attend "Local Government Day" in Topeka. Whipple says the City and Sedgwick County are looking for some help in dealing with mental health challenges. He says they would like to add about 50 beds, or perhaps build a new mental health facility in the region.
