One of the longest running and most successful radio programs in history will come to an end today June 18.
The Rush Limbaugh Show broadcast has been on more than 600 radio stations. KNSS was one of the first small group of radio stations that picked up Rush's show in the late 80s. In Wichita, Rush was the #1 rated show when he was on, beating more than 25 other radio stations in the metro. The show will sign off with a guest host before 2:00 p.m. Wichita time.
Limbaugh died of lung cancer on Feb. 17. His last show was Feb 2. His syndication company, Premiere Networks, opted to air the show using multiple guest hosts with soundbites from past Rush shows.
KNSS and Audacy stations have selected the Dana Loesch Show as Rush's successor. "Dana will fit right in with Rush listeners. Her ideas, and solutions are similar to what Rush would have offered," said Tony Duesing, KNSS Brand Manager. "Dana has a fast-pace, compelling show that will make three hours fly by."
