Dark smoke could be seen over northwest Wichita Saturday afternoon.
A trash fire broke out at CDR Landfill on 37th Street North. Crews used about 5,000 gallons of water to bring the fire under control, and then used excavators to bury it.
No injuries were reported. Fire officials do not know what caused the fire to start.
