Fire damaged a home in east Wichita. It began just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 1400 block of S Hickory Stick Circle, near Harry and 143rd E.
The Wichita Fire Department, Fire District 1 and the Andover Fire Department combined forces in fighting the blaze.
Firefighters said flames were visible when they arrived at the home. Additional engines were called in due to the amount of smoke coming from the structure.
Officials said the fire was quickly brought under control. There were no injuries. The cause of the blaze was determined to be accidental. Damage was estimated at $250,000.
