Fireworks can be used between 10 am and midnight through July 5th in Wichita. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News you must follow the law in your use of fireworks. He says firefighter teams will enforce the city's fireworks ordinance, and violators face a fine of $250 plus court costs.
Pending infrastructure legislation contains Amtrak passenger train service for Wichita for the first time since the late seventies. Mayor Whipple says that will link Wichita to the north by rail, and south into Texas and its "huge" economy. He says that will be good for business.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor, on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
