A couple have been charged in connection with a twelve year old murder...
Kristopher Valadez, 32, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of German Clerici, 19, of Wichita. Clerici’s body was found in a culvert east of Augusta on Feb. 6, 2010.
Candace Valadez, Kristopher's wife, was charged with aiding a felon. The couple were arrested in South Carolina in July, and were brought back to Wichita this week. They are currently free on bond.
The homicide remained unsolved until Butler County Sheriff's investigators took a fresh look at the case last year. The sheriff's office says they discovered some new information, prompting more interviews and the discovery of new evidence.
The couple’s next court appearance was set for Aug. 22.
