Former Sedgwick County Commissioner David Bayouth has passed away. The County shared the news on social media Wednesday. Bayouth served on the commission from 1987 through 1999.
The County released the following statement:
We are saddened to hear of the passing of former County Commissioner David Bayouth who proudly served our community from 1987 through 1999. A major change that took place his first year serving was moving from three Commissioners to five. He was instrumental in organizing the Central Street Summit between the Wichita City Council and County Commission. When the holidays approached, Bayouth put together a Christmas luncheon for all county employees and made it extra special by dressing up as Santa.
We are grateful for his service to Sedgwick County. Our thoughts are with his family during this time.
