That funding would help implement a child and adolescent medical fellowship training program for graduate physicians. The county says it would also increase access to the highest level of expertise in children’s mental health treatment for youth in Sedgwick County and beyond through a local fellowship training program.

Funding would come from a transfer from the General Fund
Operating Reserve to Community Development Community Programs.

In related news, the commission approved $225,210 to fund COMCARE's master degree in social work education program. The cost will cover tuition, books, and course fees, for up to six employees.

This program will be paid for by the COMCARE Grant Fund.
