One person suffered injuries in a Garden City house explosion Saturday night.
The call came in just after 7 p.m. from the 2700 block of 10th Street in the western part of the city. One home was significantly damaged, with a large debris field in the neighborhood.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office will assist with the investigation. The cause of the explosion has not been determined at this time.
Monday's summer school classes at nearby Gertrude Walker Elementary have been cancelled, thanks to some minor damage to the school.
