A Sedgwick County jury has returned a guilty verdict against the man accused in the crash that killed Wichita radio personality, Don Hall.
The trial for Ray Watkins began on Monday as a jury was selected. Opening arguments were heard on Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoon the jury rendered the guilty verdict for involuntary manslaughter, while under the influence.
Hall was driving to work in April 2020. While traveling east on Kellogg, Hall's car was struck by Watkins who was driving southbound on Rock Road. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
Court records revealed that Watkins refused several sobriety tests at the scene. A probable cause affidavit indicated that Watkins' blood-alcohol level was .243, which is three times the legal limit.
Sentencing was set for October 29.
