The Reno County Sheriff's office said the deputies found a man in crisis, but unwilling to talk. The deputies left, but returned about an hour later after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.
After about twelve hours, the Reno County Sheriff Special Response Team, and the Hutchinson Police Department Emergency Response Team were able to enter the home and take the man into custody without incident.
The case remains under investigation and will be presented to the Reno County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of possible charges.
