A stretch of I-70 was closed Friday afternoon when an oversized load struck the Hays 27th Street bridge, causing damage to both the bridge and the roadway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the incident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-70 at mile post 161. No injuries were reported.
Traffic was rerouted to the 183-Bypass at mile post 157 and then re-entered the interstate at Commerce Parkway.
