The Wichita City Council gave the green light to improvements at Edgemoor and O.J. Watson Park.
Edgemoor Park will have 2 tennis courts converted to 6 pickleball courts. The group, Light Up Edgemoor, raised $27,000 and the Wichita Parks Foundation matched it. Mid-American Courtworks will complete the improvements.
The council also agreed to improvements at O.J. Watson Park. The $550,100 budget will fund purchases of furniture, fixtures and equipment for Seasons Venue. Landscape improvements, including additional irrigation systems, along with repairs to roads and sidewalks are coming as well.
