Police officers and Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) agents are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Leon. It happened around 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the town, about thirty miles east of Wichita.
Officials said that Deputies with the Sheriff's Office were attempting to serve an arrest warrant when the shooting took place outside of the post office and a bank. None of the bank or postal employees were injured.
The suspect was transported to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.
No law enforcement officers were injured.
