The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is investigating after thousands of dead fish were found floating in a west Wichita pond Friday.
This is in the Chadsworth neighborhood near 21st and Maize.
KDHE was at the pond on Friday afternoon taking samples, but won't comment until testing is complete.
Last summer, a Goddard neighborhood pond experienced a similar situation. KDHE cited hot weather and low oxygen levels as the cause in that fish kill.
