The Kansas Department of Transportation will close eastbound Kellogg as a part of ongoing bridge construction. Overnight closure of eastbound U.S. 54 at I-135 begins Wednesday, Sept. 16. The closure begins at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to end at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, conditions permitting. KDOT says the closure is necessary for crews to install a false floor as part of ongoing bridge construction.
During this time, eastbound U.S. 54 traffic will not be able to travel through the I-135/U.S. 54 interchange. Traffic will be diverted to northbound or southbound I-135. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the closure area and use alternate routes. Drivers should plan for extra travel time and be prepared follow posted detour signs.
