On April 29th, the Kansas Department of Transportation is closing the westbound K-96 ramp to Hydraulic Avenue. The closure is considered long-term and will remain in effect until early winter.
KDOT says the closure is necessary to allow for the installation of a temporary concrete safety barrier and the completion of striping work in the area. This will let progress continue on the new westbound K-96 North Junction work as it moves into new phases.
During the closure, access from westbound K-96 to the Hydraulic Avenue off-ramp will be blocked. This work is part of phase 2B of KDOT's ongoing North Junction Gold Project.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. Click here for updates on construction projects in the Wichita area.
