Louisiana man enters guilty plea in DUI crash that killed three people in Butler Co.

A man from Louisiana, arrested last summer following a DUI crash in Butler County that killed a three people and injured two others, pleads guilty to related charges in a court appearance.

Tyler Beauclaire was accused of driving drunk when his Chevrolet truck hit a Toyota Tacoma driven by Eliot “Britton” Eichbauer. Eichbauer’s 19-year-old son, Arlo, and his 16-year-old nephew, Silas Eichbauer, were passengers in the Tacoma. All three died at the scene of the crash at Southeast Flinthills Road and Highway 400, between the towns of Leon and Beaumont.

In his court appearance on Friday, Beauclaire pleaded guilty to three counts of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence for the three people killed in the crash, and to two counts of aggravated battery for the two others injured in the crash.

Eliot Eichbauer was a teacher at Curtis Middle School in Wichita.

Sentencing in the case is set for April 23.
